Dastaan 002: Subculture by Subko’s endeavor to highlight artists from the Subcontinent is back with another edition of Dastaan.

What to expect:
Anurag Banerjee, the Shillong-based photographer, is unveiling his second self-published book ‘The Songs of Our People’ - an encapsulation of the identity of musicians from the North-Eastern state of Meghalaya at Mary Lodge on 10th May.
In conversation with Reema Maya, two time Sundance Film Festival nominated filmmaker, Anurag will offer an exclusive insight into his second self-published book.
To bring the sounds of the book to life, Dastaan 002 will also feature a performance by Khasi musician Maya Lyngdoh.
Join us at Dastaan 002 at Mary Lodge, Bandra (W), from 6 PM to 9 PM on 10th May 2024 to explore the narrative of Meghalaya’s political and musical history.
About The Songs of Our People:
An endeavor to unearth his own identity as a native of the state, The Songs of Our People features the profiles of 19 Meghalaya based musicians who have celebrated their identity through their music. Heavily influenced by the convergence of rap and R&B with public protests in times of political unrest, the book is a reflection of the tales of hip-hop curated in this time.
